Job Description Position Title: Category Manager – Furniture Location: Noida / Mumbai (Full-Time, On-site) Reporting To: Business Head / Director – Projects Compensation: Up to ₹8 LPA (Fixed) + Performance-Linked Incentives About Sutra Luminis Sutra Luminis is a premium brand specializing in luxury decorative lighting and bespoke furniture solutions for high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, and institutional projects across India. We execute large-scale custom furniture installations for hotels, banquet halls, offices, and landmark developments, combining design, craftsmanship, and functionality. We are seeking a Category Manager – Furniture to manage and optimize high-value furniture projects with a strong focus on costing, execution alignment, and profitability. Role Summary The Category Manager – Furniture will be responsible for end-to-end management of large-format and custom furniture projects. The role requires strong techno-commercial understanding, vendor coordination capability, and execution oversight to ensure timely delivery and margin protection. Key Responsibilities 1. Project & Category Ownership ○ Lead large furniture projects, including custom glass furniture and specialty installations. ○ Ensure project revenue and margin targets are met. ○ Monitor projects from design approval to final execution and billing. 2. Technical & BOQ Evaluation ○ Review architectural drawings, layouts, and BOQs. ○ Conduct detailed project costing and margin analysis. ○ Work closely with design and production teams to ensure feasibility, material selection, and cost control. 3. Vendor & Fabrication Management ○ Identify and manage vendors for custom furniture fabrication and specialized materials. ○ Negotiate pricing and ensure cost efficiency. ○ Ensure quality compliance and timely availability of materials. 4. Installation & Site Coordination ○ Coordinate with project managers and site teams during furniture installation. ○ Monitor execution quality and adherence to timelines. ○ Address site-level challenges and ensure timely resolution. 5. Profitability & Cost Control ○ Track project-wise profitability. ○ Manage variation orders and scope changes effectively. ○ Ensure milestone-based billing and payment follow-ups. 6. Cross-Functional Coordination ○ Collaborate with Sales, Design, Production, and Operations teams. ○ Provide technical-commercial inputs during client discussions for large projects. 7. Reporting & Monitoring ○ Maintain structured dashboards for project status, revenue, margins, and risks. ○ Provide periodic updates to senior management. Candidate Profile ● Graduate (Engineering / Design / Commerce background preferred). ● 5–8 years of experience in large furniture installations, custom fabrication, or project-based environments. ● Strong experience in BOQ handling and project costing. ● Exposure to hospitality, commercial, or institutional furniture projects preferred. ● Strong coordination, vendor management, and negotiation skills. ● Willing to travel for site supervision across India.
