Product Manager - Loan Against Property

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead the end-to-end development, management and continuous enhancement of the Loan Against Property (LAP) product portfolio in alignment with the strategic objectives of Muthoot Fincorp and Muthoot Pappachan Group. The role incumbent is expected to own and manage the product strategy, market analysis, process optimization, compliance adherence and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Key Job Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive product strategy for Loan Against Property in line with organizational goals. Identify and evaluate opportunities for new product features, enhancements, and market expansion. Conduct competitor analysis and benchmark offerings to ensure product competitiveness. Portfolio Management: Monitor product performance and ensure achievement of sales, profitability, and portfolio quality targets. Manage pricing strategies, including interest rates, processing fees and other product-related charges. Analyse portfolio trends and recommend corrective actions as needed. Sales Enablement and Support: Develop sales tools, training materials and marketing campaigns to enable the sales team to effectively pitch Loan Against Property products. Identify and resolve distribution challenges, thereby optimizing channel partnerships and sales processes to increase mortgage loan penetration. Collaborate with sales teams to identify customer needs and design customized solutions. Process Optimization: Streamline the loan approval, disbursal and monitoring processes to ensure efficiency and reduce turnaround time. Implement technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. Risk and Compliance Management: Work closely with the risk and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies. Monitor credit quality and mitigate risks associated with the Loan Against Property portfolio. Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams (risk, operations, legal, IT, and marketing) to ensure seamless product delivery. Market Research and Insights: Stay updated on market trends, customer preferences, and regulatory changes impacting the Loan Against Property business. Provide actionable insights to senior management for strategic decision-making. Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to refine product roadmaps. Monitor key metrics including loan origination volume, distribution efficiency, and portfolio profitability; recommend data-driven enhancements.

Knowledge, Skills & Attribute

Strong understanding of Financial Markets, Securities, and Lending practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proven track record in product development, sales enablement, and portfolio management. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with lending software platforms. Strong analytical proficiency with tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI platforms. Awareness of process workflows, digital lending systems, and technology‑enabled product solutions. Product Management Skills: Roadmap planning, product development, lifecycle management, and feature enhancement. Process Optimization Skills: Experience in improving operational efficiency and reducing turnaround times. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Customer-centric approach with the ability to work closely with sales, credit, risk, operations, legal, IT and compliance teams. Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to articulate product features, business cases, and performance updates. Results-driven approach with a history of scaling sales channels in lending. Strategic Mindset with an ability to align product goals with business priorities.

Role Requirement

Educational Qualification : Graduate or MBA in Finance or Business Administration. Experience : 5–8 years of experience in product management, lending or wealth management, with specific experience in Loan Against Property (LAP) products will be preferred. Mobility & Communication : Willingness to travel as required and proficiency in English, Hindi, and/or relevant regional languages.
