Housekeeping Associate

Role Overview

The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role ensures that guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, contributing to the overall satisfaction and reputation of the hotel/resort.

Key Responsibilities

- Clean, sanitize, and service guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas according to hotel standards. - Replace linens, amenities, and supplies as per established guidelines. - Report maintenance issues, damages, or lost & found items promptly to the supervisor. - Follow proper cleaning procedures and use cleaning equipment/chemicals safely. - Ensure housekeeping trolleys and storage areas are organized and stocked. - Adhere to hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in line with company policies. - Support laundry operations when required. - Provide courteous and prompt responses to guest requests. - Assist in maintaining housekeeping records such as room status and cleaning checklists. - Uphold the brand standards of the property at all times.

Skills & Competencies

- Attention to detail and strong sense of cleanliness. - Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. - Basic communication skills (reading, writing, and understanding instructions). - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, bending, lifting, and long hours on feet.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Prior housekeeping or hospitality experience desirable but not mandatory. - Training in cleaning procedures and chemical safety will be an advantage.

Work Conditions

- Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays. - Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and physical work.
