R&D Project Manager

to lead a portfolio of new development projects. This senior role is responsible for driving project convergence across

Quality, Cost, and Time (QCT)

from the early scoping phase through development.

Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery Lead QCT management for new powertrain development projects. Support business teams during customer engagements on all engineering-related topics. Oversee QCT quotations for new projects requiring core technical competencies. Manage the full lifecycle of new projects, ensuring alignment with internal processes, technical standards, and safety requirements. Supervise and guide several Project Leaders within the team. Coordinate and influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure project convergence and successful delivery. Conduct technical and economic scoping, feasibility studies, and define product/process specifications. Make critical technical and economic decisions to optimize quality and performance. Monitor deliverables (economic, technical, quality, safety, schedule) to achieve key milestones. Lead supplier coordination throughout development and serial phases. Identify and manage risks, opportunities, and allocated budgets across assigned projects. Innovation & Technology Leadership Lead complex innovation projects requiring cross-project coordination within the research roadmap. Build, monitor, and align technological roadmaps with long-term (10-year) product visions. Engage with suppliers, academic partners, and start-ups to advance technological development. Drive research, concept creation, and prototyping activities across the company’s global Labs network. Represent the company in research programs, consortiums, and relevant working groups. Qualifications & Requirements Education Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Professional Experience 10+ years of experience in powertrain development. Minimum 5 years in project management. At least 3 years in direct team leadership roles. Technical & Functional Skills Strong expertise in powertrain technologies, automotive systems, and product/process design. Deep knowledge of automotive development processes, standards, and lifecycle phases. Proven mastery of project management methodologies. Strong command of economic drivers, cost optimization, and commercial negotiation. Solid understanding of risk and opportunity management. Soft Skills Excellent leadership with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams. Strong communication and synthesis capabilities. High capacity for strategic stakeholder negotiation. Creativity, curiosity, and an innovative mindset. Strong customer orientation. Ability to make decisions autonomously and mobilize teams effectively. Languages Fluent in English and Hindi.
