Position Overview

The Dean – Research & Projects will serve as the chief architect of the University’s research strategy, funding mobilization, interdisciplinary project development, and innovation ecosystem. The role demands visionary academic leadership combined with operational execution capabilities in research administration, grant management, and regulatory compliance.

The candidate will be responsible for building a scalable, high-impact research culture aligned with UGC, NAAC, NIRF, and national funding frameworks (DST, DBT, ICSSR, ICMR, AICTE, SERB, CSR grants, industry collaborations, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

Formulate and implement the University’s

Research & Innovation Strategy Lead sponsored research, consultancy, funded projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives Facilitate grant acquisition from national and international funding agencies Develop and oversee IPR, patent filing, and technology transfer processes Establish research clusters and Centres of Excellence Strengthen publication quality (Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals) Drive NAAC/NIRF research metrics and compliance Build industry-academia collaborations and CSR-funded research pipelines Mentor faculty in proposal writing, project execution, and publication strategy Supervise Research & Development Cell (RDC) and project administration office Develop doctoral research governance and quality assurance mechanisms

Educational Qualifications

Ph.D. in CSE/Management/ Physics/ relevant discipline from a recognized university Professor grade with over

10 years of teaching and research experience Significant research credentials including: Over 12-15 Publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals Funded research projects as PI/Co-PI Patents/IPR (preferred) Experience in academic administration at senior level (Dean/Director/Research Head)

Experience Requirements

Proven track record in securing funded research grants Experience handling multi-disciplinary research portfolios Exposure to NAAC/NIRF documentation and research metric reporting Experience in managing research compliance, ethics committees, and regulatory frameworks Prior leadership in R&D Cells, incubation centres, or sponsored project offices preferred

Strategic research planning Grant writing & proposal development expertise Strong network with funding bodies and industry Data-driven academic governance IPR and technology commercialization understanding Leadership & faculty mentoring capability High-level documentation & reporting skills Ability to build scalable research infrastructure
