About the Role The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in shaping culture, driving employee engagement, strengthening industrial relations, and enabling operational excellence on the shopfloor. The role requires close partnership with business leaders to build a high-performance, values-driven workforce while ensuring compliance, capability-building, and smooth HR operations.

Responsibilities

1.Culture & Engagement

• Build a values-driven, high-ownership culture and drive behavior-focused initiatives. • Design meaningful engagement programs for both shopfloor and office teams. • Facilitate open communication platforms that promote transparency and teamwork. • Coach supervisors and managers to lead with the right values.

2.Industrial Relations & Shopfloor Presence

• Maintain strong relationships with shopfloor employees, supervisors, and unions. • Identify and address potential IR issues proactively to sustain a harmonious environment. • Ensure strong daily HR visibility and support for operations. • Uphold full compliance with labor laws, safety norms, and the Tata Code of Conduct.

3. Performance Management

• Lead practical performance management processes aligned with business goals. • Drive goal-setting workshops linked to plant KPIs and strategic priorities. • Guide managers on fair, transparent, data-driven performance reviews. • Implement value-based recognition programs that reinforce desired behaviors.

4.Compliance & Statutory Readiness

• Support adherence to all labor law requirements and statutory norms. • Prepare data and documentation for client audits and represent HR as needed. • Conduct vendor audits and inspections to ensure compliance and employee wellbeing. • Maintain updated statutory registers, reports, and ensure audit readiness at all times.

5.HR Operations

• Monitor absenteeism, attrition, and engagement trends for timely interventions. • Support manpower planning aligned with production requirements. • Enable effective use of HRMS systems for attendance, payroll, and reporting. • Create and maintain dashboards for real-time insights and trend analysis. • Administer employee benefits and support continuous improvement initiatives.

6.Change Management

• Execute structured change initiatives through communication, feedback, and engagement. • Partner with leaders to ensure clear, consistent change messaging and workforce readiness. • Support mindset shifts toward digital adoption, lean processes, and performance ownership. • Model resilience, adaptability, and Tata values throughout transitions.

Essential Experience

Strong experience in manufacturing/plant HR with hands-on shopfloor presence. Proven exposure to Industrial Relations, union handling, and conflict resolution. Demonstrated expertise in performance management, employee engagement, and culture-building initiatives. Background in HR operations, compliance management, and statutory readiness. Experience leading change management programs and driving large-scale workforce communication. Ability to coach supervisors and managers with a values- and behavior-driven approach

Qualifications & Work Conditions

MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent post-graduate qualification. 18+ years of plant HR/IR experience (as per role level). Strong understanding of labor laws, statutory compliance, and HR systems. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
