What You’ll Be Doing (Position Summary): The QA Lead Manager is accountable for shaping and executing a forward-thinking testing strategy with a strong emphasis on automation and AI-driven solutions. This role translates business requirements into robust, automated test scenarios and scripts, ensuring comprehensive Development Integration Testing (DIT) across a variety of platforms. The incumbent champions the adoption of advanced automation frameworks and AI technologies, maintaining exceptional quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle. How You’ll Succeed (Responsibilities): Automation-Driven Testing Strategy: Define, document, and continuously enhance the testing strategy with a primary focus on automation and AI integration to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and coverage.

Comprehensive Automated DIT: Ensure thorough Development Integration Testing across platforms by implementing and maintaining advanced automation frameworks and AI-powered testing tools.

Innovation in Automation: Proactively research, evaluate, and integrate emerging automation and AI technologies to strengthen the automation landscape and drive continuous improvement.

People Leadership: Direct, motivate, and develop staff to foster a high-performance culture. Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members.

People Management: Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals. Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training . Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and being an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values. Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.

Complex Issue Resolution: Utilize automation and AI-based analytics to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues encountered during test execution, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.

Quality Assurance Leadership: Advocate for automation best practices and AI-driven quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Risk & Escalation Management: Proactively identify risks and escalate concerns, leveraging AI-driven insights to inform decision-making and stakeholder communication.

Experience: 9 - 12

years of experience Who You Are (Skills / Qualifications): Must Have Skills: Minimum 10+ years of overall experience in Software Testing, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies, QA approaches, and tools, with 3 - 5 years in people management. At least 3 years of relevant experience in driving the vision, planning and execution of Automation strategy for critical and complex applications comprising Web Services, API, gRPC and UI. Hands on experience with Java or Python or scripting languages. Experience working with tools and technologies namely Jira Confluence, ALM, Parasoft SOAtest (or SOAP UI or Post Man), Selenium, WebServices (SOAP/REST), UI, SQL / DB, and ETL testing Strong expertise in managing automation teams and developing test strategies using leading automation frameworks (eg, Selenium, Data driven) and AI-powered testing tools. Hands-on experience with AI in software testing, such as test case generation, defect prediction, and intelligent test execution. Knowledge of AML / ITC and experience with regulatory projects / programs is a plus. Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Up-to-date knowledge of technology advancements and trends in test automation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey detailed information in an impactful manner. Demonstrated commitment to CIBC’s values: trust, teamwork, and accountability.
