About the Role We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead end-to-end business execution and operational performance across our Prescription Lenses business, manufacturing plants, supply chain, and Imports & Exports (EXIM).

Reporting to the Director, the COO will translate business strategy into consistent, measurable results with accountability for operational performance, cost competitiveness, quality, delivery, and organizational capability.

The role requires a hands-on, execution-driven leader capable of building scalable systems, strong governance, and operational discipline across multiple plants.

Key Responsibilities

Business Ownership & Execution Own overall operational performance across assigned plants and businesses. Drive annual operating plans and ensure disciplined monthly and quarterly execution. Improve margins through productivity enhancement, yield improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Operational Excellence & Plant Integration Establish and institutionalize a robust Production & Operating System across all manufacturing plants. Lead process standardisation and integration to ensure consistency in execution and governance. Drive enterprise-wide Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Strengthen operational discipline, review mechanisms, and performance dashboards.

Supply Chain & EXIM Leadership Own end-to-end supply chain performance, including procurement, planning, inventory, and vendor management. Improve OTIF (On-Time-In-Full), inventory turns and working capital efficiency. Strengthen sourcing strategy through localization and supplier capability development. Oversee Imports & Exports to ensure cost efficiency, statutory compliance, risk mitigation, and continuity of supply.

Strategy Deployment & Transformation Translate business strategy into clear execution roadmaps with defined milestones and measurable outcomes. Lead transformation initiatives focused on cost leadership, quality excellence, process simplification, and operational digitization.

Leadership & Organization Building Build and sustain a high-performance leadership team across plants and functions. Drive accountability, ownership mindset, and execution discipline. Develop internal capability and succession for key operational roles.

Candidate Profile 20 years of experience in manufacturing-led organizations. (promotor-based) Proven experience managing operations for a manufacturing business with annual turnover of ₹300 Cr or above, preferably in a manpower-intensive, multi-plant environment. Strong exposure to operational transformation, and supply chain leadership. Experience in lenses, precision manufacturing, casting, engineering, or allied industries preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a promoter-led organization.

Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Post Graduation in Management
