Lead Textile Designer

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Lead Textile Designer to own and execute our one-year design strategy across rug, pillow, and pouf categories for the U.S. market. This role combines creative leadership, vendor collaboration, market analysis, and people management. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in rug product development, strong project management skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a small design team.

Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute the company’s one-year textile design strategy aligned with business and brand goals • Lead rug product development for the U.S. market from concept through production • Collaborate closely with domestic and international vendors to develop CAD designs and assign colorways • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timelines are met throughout development • Analyze industry leaders and competitors to identify trends, pricing benchmarks, and opportunities • Present market trends, design direction, and recommendations to leadership • Lead design projects for national accounts in pillow and pouf categories • Source, evaluate, and onboard new vendors • Lead price negotiations and develop long-term vendor relationships • Manage multiple concurrent projects with strong organization and accountability • Manage and mentor 1–2 direct reports • Travel to Bhadohi, UP monthly to support vendor development and production alignment

Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of experience in textile design with a strong focus on rug product development for the U.S. market • Proven experience working with vendors on CAD development and color execution • Prior people management experience • Strong understanding of the home furnishings market, especially rugs, pillows, and poufs • Ability to translate market trends into commercially successful designs • Experience supporting national or key retail accounts • Strong project management and organizational skills • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools • Comfortable with regular travel to Bhadohi, UP

Location Must live in or be comfortable traveling to Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh on a monthly basis.
