Associate Vice President – Finance & Accounts Reporting Relationship:

Head – Accounts Payable Management and Controls

Purpose:

This role works closely with the Head – Accounts Payable & Management Controls and supports the end to end accounts payable operations which includes expense accounting, budget monitoring, ensuring adherence to and monitoring of compliances, timely closure of books on a monthly basis, creating and maintaining a strong review framework for the operations, relevant P&L and balance sheet line items. Major expenditure categories include Content, Marketing, Technology, G&A, Employee Reimbursements and Capex. Since P2P operations are centralised, this role covers SPNI and its downstream companies and one affiliate. This role is also responsible for ensuring efficient operation of the team – maintain and improving TAT, overall cost of operations, adoption of best practices and driving automation. Education:

10 to 12 years post qualification Key Responsibilities: Core - expense accounting, payables, vendor payments, fixed assets, budgeting & forecasting, fixed assets, master maintenance, documentation & controls Enhance Financial Oversight – Establish robust systems for tracking and maintaining accountability of all operational costs, with a special focus on technology costs Optimize Payables Management – Improve efficiency in handling payables, including CBD and VHD-related payments Strengthen Financial governance – Implement compliance measures to safeguard financial integrity and mitigate risks. Improve Audit efficiency Understanding all spend categories and terms of key contracts driving each spend category. Work with FP&A and Business Finance to understand the spend plans for all line items. Basis the above understanding ensure – determine appropriate cost accounting, appropriate controls and knowledge within the team. Liaise with business finance and FP&A to assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts. Monitor and publish budget utilisation status. Monitoring working capital, forecast fund requirement. Liaise with the banking team to ensure fund availability and timely payment of vendor invoices. Working with sourcing team to optimise and standardise payment terms. Ensure adherence to Chart of Financial Authority, SOPs, accounting policies, and documentation norms. Ensure maintenance of fixed asset register, monitor asset movement, ownership & controls. Support month-end close activities, ensuring adequacy of provisions, review of balance sheet schedules and variance analysis. Bring down TAT for book closure. Maintenance and review of masters including vendor master, chart of accounts, profit/ cost centres

Other responsibilities: Ensuring efficient operation of the team – maintain and improving TAT, overall cost of operations, adoption of best practices and driving automation. Awareness of tech architecture, ensuring single source of truth, adequacy of data capture which enables strong data analytics. Establish and improve SOPs, policy documentation and checklists. Team management -assessing current and expected skill requirements, building capability through training programs, monitoring deliverables and achievement against targets, regular interaction with team members and stakeholders.

Technical Solid understanding of accounting principles Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory norms Hands-on SAP experience (FI/CO & MM preferred) Strong Excel and MIS capabilities Understanding of P2P and expense management processes
