JOB PURPOSE:
Senior leadership role within the Global Leveraged & Sponsor Financing business, responsible for originating, structuring, and executing transactions across India and Southeast Asia (SEA) while supporting broader global mandates. The role focuses on
sponsor-driven financing solutions
across:
Leveraged Finance
Infrastructure Finance
(including digital infrastructure and data centers)
Fund Finance
Structured Credit
The Executive Director will also play a critical role in
execution of SEA sponsor financings , working closely with global coverage teams, regional credit partners, legal, operations, and international stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The role shall require:
Deal Origination & Structuring
Originate sponsor-driven financing opportunities across India and SEA.
Lead structuring of bespoke financing solutions in leveraged, infrastructure, structured credit, and fund finance.
Identify cross-border financing opportunities involving India/SEA sponsors investing globally.
Execution Leadership
Act as
transaction captain , coordinating all workstreams from screening through closing.
Lead preparation and review of financial models, credit memos, commercial term sheets, due diligence, and loan documentation.
Drive negotiations with borrowers, sponsors, and co‑lenders, ensuring structures meet FAB’s risk appetite.
Ensure timely progression across credit, risk, legal, coverage, operations, and agency teams.
Market & Sector Expertise
Maintain strong knowledge of India and SEA loan plus capital market, infrastructure financing trends, regulatory dynamics, and sponsor investment strategies.
Build a market view on pricing, terms, leverage appetite, rating agency treatment, and documentation norms.
Track key sponsor activities in digital infrastructure (data centers, fiber, towers), energy transition, transportation, as well as across the leveraged finance /structured credit market.
Relationship Management
Develop and strengthen relationships with India and SEA based financial sponsors, infrastructure funds, private credit firms, private equity sponsors, and advisors.
Partner closely with India and SEA Coverage and Global Relationship Bankers to position FAB as a lead financing partner.
Portfolio & Credit Risk Management
Review existing exposures to identify refinancings, upsizing, restructuring, or cross‑sell opportunities.
Monitor portfolio performance and counterparties; support remedial action where needed.
Governance, Reporting & Internal Coordination
Ensure all transactions adhere to FAB policies, credit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Provide accurate reporting for budgeting, pipeline management, and internal committees.
Work collaboratively across international teams to promote one‑bank execution.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience and Skills:
10-12+ years in sponsor‑led leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, fund finance or structured credit, preferably within leading banks or private credit platforms.
Demonstrated experience closing data center, digital infrastructure, or major infrastructure financings.
Strong credit assessment capability with expertise in cashflow modelling, debt sizing, sensitivities, and risk evaluation.
In‑depth familiarity with LMA/North American loan documentation, intercreditor agreements, construction financing structures, and project diligence.
Proven track record leading multi‑stakeholder transactions with sponsors, advisors, and co‑lenders.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage complex timelines, and uphold strong attention to detail.
Comfortable working across time zones with global teams.
Ability to mentor, and train junior staff.
