Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary

As an Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and support of Oracle database environments across development, test, and production systems. You’ll work closely with application teams, system administrators, and other IT stakeholders to ensure database reliability, high availability, data integrity, and optimal performance.

️ Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle database software and related tools. N - Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning and optimization strategies. - Plan and execute backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery plans. - Implement and enforce security policies, user management, roles, and permissions. - Maintain database objects such as tables, indexes, views, sequences, stored procedures. - Troubleshoot database issues and support application teams with SQL and performance problems. - Control database changes through lifecycle migration and support release management. - Implement capacity planning and growth forecasting for database environments. - Maintain documentation of configurations, standards, procedures, and database policies. - Provide production support and coordinate with infrastructure and application teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

✔ Strong hands-on experience with Oracle database versions (11g/12c/18c/19c). LinkedIn

✔ Installation, patching, and upgrades of Oracle RDBMS.

✔ Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, stored procedures, functions, and scripting.

✔ Experience with backup & recovery strategies (RMAN, Data Pump).

✔ Database performance tuning and monitoring using tools (OEM, AWR, etc.). LinkedIn

✔ Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting and OS fundamentals.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

⭐ Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM. LinkedIn

⭐ Familiarity with cloud-based Oracle services (OCI/AWS/Azure) and automation tools. LinkedIn

⭐ Understanding of data modelling, capacity planning, and database security best practices.

Education & Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering or related field.
