About Company Sturlite is a Bangalore based electrical products company founded in 2009 with a vision to provide best in class electrical products to consumers. It is one of the fastest growing companies in this category and deals primarily in lighting (bulbs, LEDs, interior/exterior lighting etc.) and wiring, and it is now entering the category of switches, MCBs, etc. In future Sturlite would also want to enter small electrical appliances like fans, geysers, kitchen appliances etc.

It is a rapidly growing company with 2X annual business growth, having established itself in South & West India markets in the last few years, the company is aiming at a pan India presence by this year end and aiming to be one of the major players in the category within the next 3 years.

Role Overview Sturlite is looking for an experienced Designer to strengthen our design and application team. The role involves developing high-quality lighting designs and calculations for diverse applications while ensuring compliance with national and international standards. The candidate will work closely with sales, projects, consultants, and architects to deliver optimized and visually comfortable lighting solutions.

Key Responsibilities Lighting Design & Engineering - Prepare lighting designs and simulations using DIALux / DIALux evo, Relux, AGi32, and AutoCAD - Perform calculations for lux levels, luminance, uniformity ratios, UGR, spacing, and glare control - Interpret and apply IES / LDT photometric files - Select appropriate beam angles and light distributions (narrow, medium, wide, asymmetric) - Apply Coefficient of Utilization (CU) concepts for design accuracy

Application Expertise - Design lighting solutions for: o Office spaces (visual comfort, lux & UGR compliance) o Retail environments (ambient, accent, and feature lighting hierarchy) o Warehouse & industrial facilities (mounting heights, reflectance factors) o Road & street lighting (ME, CE, S classes – basic application) o Flood lighting & sports lighting (aiming principles, spill light control) - Ensure effective control of spill light, glare, and obtrusive light

Standards & Compliance - Ensure compliance with: o IS / BIS standards (basic awareness) o IEC standards (IP ratings, safety requirements) o EN & CIE norms (awareness and practical application) - Incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability concepts in all designs

Lighting Controls & Smart Solutions - Work on lighting control concepts using: o DALI / DALI-2 o 0–10V dimming o DMX for façade and dynamic lighting - Develop scene setting and zoning logic in coordination with project requirements

Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate with sales, project, and site teams to support pre-sales and execution activities - Coordinate with consultants, architects, and clients for design approvals - Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining design intent - Assist in technical presentations and design reviews

Desired Skills & Competencies - Strong foundation in professional and architectural lighting design - Proficiency in DIALux evo, Relux, AGi32, AutoCAD - Good understanding of lighting controls and dimming systems - Ability to balance technical compliance with aesthetic design - Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills

Educational Qualification - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, Architecture, or a related discipline
