Role Overview:

The Public Affairs Consultant will play a critical role in shaping and executing the organization's government affairs and public policy strategy. This individual will lead lobbying efforts, build relationships with policymakers and regulatory agencies, and position the organization as a thought leader in freight technology, collaborative logistics, and sustainable transportation. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in transportation policy, technology policy, or infrastructure advocacy, along with an established network at the federal and/or state level.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Central & State Government Advocacy:

Departmental Liaison:

Maintain high-level relationships with the

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) , the

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) , and the

Logistics Division of the Ministry of Commerce . National Logistics Policy (NLP):

Advocate for organisation's inclusion in NLP-driven pilots, focusing on the

Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP)

and

E-Logs

(Ease of Logistics) portals. Gati Shakti Integration:

Work with state-level infrastructure boards to align organisation's \"Southern Corridor\" operations with the

PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan

for multimodal connectivity.

2. Regulatory Lobbying:

Digital Standards:

Lobby for the standardization of API-based data sharing between private platforms and government databases (VAHAN, SARATHI, FASTag).

3. Sustainability & \"Green Freight\" Positioning:

ESG Advocacy:

Position the organisation as a key enabler of India’s

Net Zero

goals. Collaborate with NITI Aayog and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to develop carbon-credit frameworks for \"Empty Mile\" reduction. Modal Shift:

Lobby for policies that incentivize the transition from road-only to road-rail multimodal logistics, leveraging \"Green Freight\" corridors.

4. Strategic Stakeholder Management:

Industry Bodies:

Represent the organisation at

CII, FICCI, and ASSOCHAM

logistics committees. Think Tanks:

Partner with organizations like

NITI Aayog

and

RMI India

to publish whitepapers on AI’s role in improving India’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI).

Experience & Background Requirements:

Experience:

8+ years in Government Relations, Public Policy, or Corporate Affairs in India. Specific experience in

Logistics, E-commerce, or Deep-Tech

is mandatory. Network:

Established contacts within the

Logistics Division (Ministry of Commerce)

and a deep understanding of the

NITI Aayog

ecosystem. Domain Expertise:

Thorough knowledge of the

Motor Vehicles Act ,

GST for Logistics , and the

National Logistics Policy 2022 . Location:

Remote / Bangalore Communication:

Ability to draft formal \"Representations\" to Ministries and deliver persuasive presentations to senior bureaucrats (IAS officers) and industry leaders.
