What You’ll Do

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services using

Python Architect and operate

event-driven, distributed systems

(Kafka, RabbitMQ, streaming platforms) Build and evolve

high-performance REST / gRPC APIs

for large-scale production workloads Own system architecture with a focus on

fault tolerance, scalability, and reliability Drive performance improvements through

caching, indexing, async processing, and query optimization Design efficient data models using

SQL (Postgres/MySQL)

and

NoSQL (Cassandra/ScyllaDB) Ensure stable releases with strong

observability

(metrics, logs, traces) Collaborate closely with

product, AI/ML, frontend, and DevOps

teams to translate requirements into robust backend systems Mentor engineers, review code, and influence

technical and architectural decisions Take ownership of backend features

end-to-end

Have 3 + years

of backend engineering experience Have spent

longer stints

building and scaling backend systems in product-driven teams Have deep experience designing and operating

distributed systems

in production Are strong in

asynchronous programming, system design, algorithms, and data structures Have hands-on experience with

event-driven architectures

(Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) Are comfortable working with

Docker and Kubernetes Have experience deploying and running systems on

AWS, GCP, or Azure Are confident in debugging complex production issues and improving system reliability at scale Take ownership, set technical direction, and raise the overall engineering bar
