New Product Development Specialist (Food Technology)

Wellversed is looking for a Research and Development Associate with 1-4 years of experience with research and development of new products and creating food/nutraceutical/pharmaceutical product compositions.

This role is not for you if you have major experience in Quality Assurance or Regulatory Affairs.

Responsibilities:

1. Product Formulation & New Product Development

- Develop and optimize nutraceutical and pharmaceutical formulations across formats such as powders, tablets, capsules, liquids, sachets, and granules by converting product briefs, regulatory constraints, and market requirements into executable formulations, while conducting excipient compatibility studies, taste masking, solubility, and stability optimization.

2. Ingredient, Molecule & Delivery System Research

Evaluate APIs, bioactives, nutraceutical ingredients, and functional compounds for efficacy, safety, and feasibility.

3. Scale-Up, Technology Transfer & Manufacturing Support

Lead formulation transfer from lab-scale to pilot and commercial scale.

4. Documentation, Compliance & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Maintain comprehensive R&D documentation, formulation development reports, and change control records; support regulatory and compliance requirements including FSSAI, GMP, and pharmaceutical guidelines; assist during audits and product lifecycle management; and collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and Compliance teams to ensure process feasibility, quality, and timely execution.

Requirements:

1. 1-4 years of Full-Time Experience in Food Processing, R&D, NPD 2. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel/Google Sheets. 3. Relevant degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Food Technology, Pharmacology 4. Deep knowledge of research methodologies and the ability to obtain focused results. 5. Learnability, flexibility, and adaptability to quickly grasp new concepts and adapt to changing project requirements.
