About the role We are seeking a curious and versatile Research Engineer to join our R&D department at PinakashieldTech. This fully-remote, 12-month contract role operates at the cutting edge of Artificial Intelligence and Next-Gen Networking. It's an ideal opportunity for a researcher or data scientist wanting to bridge the gap between AI modeling and next-gen infrastructure within critical operational environments.

Responsibilities include: AI/ML Research & Development:

Research, design, and implement Machine Learning algorithms relevant to network optimization, automation, and threat anomaly detection. Infrastructure & Deployment:

Utilize DevOps best practices to containerize AI applications using Docker and manage orchestration via Kubernetes. Network Architecture:

Drive projects involving Cloud-Edge computing architectures, focusing on latency reduction and computational optimization for industrial environments. Emerging Tech:

Build and contribute to proofs-of-concept involving Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). Security by Design:

Apply basic network security principles for IT-OT (Operational Technology) and ICS (Industrial Control Systems) to ensure research prototypes are inherently secure. EU Consortium Collaboration:

Represent PinakashieldTech in virtual meetings and technical syncs for European Union-funded projects, presenting research progress and aligning with international partners.

Qualifications Education:

BS/B.Tech/BE or MS/M.Tech/ME in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (currently enrolled PhD students with strong portfolios are welcome). Development:

Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and Flower. Infrastructure & Containers:

Hands-on experience with Docker containerization and a foundational understanding of Kubernetes clusters. Networking:

Solid grasp of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and the core concepts behind SDN/NFV, along with a conceptual understanding of distributed computing paradigms (Cloud vs. Edge). System Administration:

Experience with Linux administration.

Soft Skills:

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for presenting complex technical data via virtual conferencing platforms to international stakeholders. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.

Nice to Have:

Awareness of the NIS2 directive and IEC 62443 standards.
