Java Backend Developer

About Position:

We’re looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with strong DevOps exposure to design, build, and operate scalable backend systems. You’ll work on Java/Spring Boot microservices, own API design & performance, and contribute to containerized deployments with Docker/Kubernetes, along with CI/CD automation.

What You'll Do:

- Design, develop, and maintain Java + Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs. - Build scalable, resilient, low-latency services; ensure high availability and fault tolerance. - Implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Jenkins/Azure DevOps) for automated build, test & deploy. - Containerize services with Docker and orchestrate using Kubernetes (Helm/Istio a plus). - Apply DevOps best practices: infrastructure-as-code, observability, monitoring, logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK). - Optimize API performance, caching, and database interactions (SQL/NoSQL). - Ensure security (OAuth2/JWT, OWASP, secrets management), and compliance in deployments. - Collaborate with product, QA, SRE, and architecture teams; participate in code reviews and design sessions. - Own production rollouts, incident response, and postmortems.

Expertise You'll Bring:

- Strong backend engineering skills with hands‑on experience in Java (8+), Spring Boot, and building high‑performance microservices. - Proven ability to design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability, resilience, and security. - Expertise in Docker for containerizing applications and Kubernetes (K8s) for deploying and orchestrating scalable services. - Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps, ensuring automated, reliable deployments. - Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and hands-on exposure to compute, storage, networking, and IAM concepts. - Strong working knowledge of SQL (MySQL/Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) databases, including performance tuning and query optimization. - Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-driven architectures. - Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, or Splunk. - Understanding of DevOps principles, including infrastructure-as-code, automation, version control, and environment management. - Knowledge of API security, OAuth2/JWT, encryption, and best practices for securing microservice ecosystems. - Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and the ability to work in fast-paced agile environments.
