Accounting Controller

About the Role: We are seeking a Freelance/ Independent Contractor that is an experienced Controller/ Accountant with a strong background in U.S.A. GAAP accounting principles and hands-on experience using Odoo Financials. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and compliance activities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities: Have a deep understanding of ERP systems, GAAP accounting principles, and workflow business maps Prepare, review, and maintain financial statements in accordance with U.S.A. GAAP Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy. Manage daily accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Utilize Odoo ERP for financial transactions, reporting, and process automation. Assist with audits, ensuring documentation and internal controls meet compliance standards. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial data flow. Experience with US school accounting preferred

Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational abilities. Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of Controller experience with demonstrated knowledge of U.S.A. GAAP. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to thrive in a collaborative and deadline-driven environment.
