Role Overview We are looking for a seasoned professional

with a strong

placement-driven background

in group health insurance. This role will lead underwriting strategy, insurer negotiations, pricing, and risk evaluation while ensuring competitive placement outcomes for SME and mid-market clients. The ideal candidate brings deep relationships with insurers, strong technical underwriting expertise, and hands-on experience in structuring complex group policies.

Key Responsibilities 1. Underwriting Strategy & Risk Assessment Lead underwriting for Group Health or Retail Health and allied insurance products. Evaluate risk profiles across SME and mid-market client segments. Design customized pricing structures and coverage solutions. Drive data-backed decision-making for loss ratio optimization. 2. Placement & Insurer Management (Core Focus) Lead end-to-end placement with insurers. Build and manage strong relationships with insurance underwriters and leadership teams. Negotiate pricing, terms, and special clauses to optimize client value. Drive competitive insurer participation across renewals and new placements. Structure RFQs and manage multi-insurer bidding processes. 3. Portfolio Management Monitor portfolio performance including claims ratios, pricing adequacy, and risk trends. Work closely with Claims and Servicing teams to control loss ratios. Recommend corrective pricing or underwriting action based on portfolio analytics. 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales to structure winning proposals. Support Product team in designing innovative healthcare offerings. Collaborate with Operations for smooth policy issuance and renewals. 5. Compliance & Governance Ensure underwriting practices align with IRDAI regulations. Maintain strong documentation and audit readiness.

Eligibility Criteria 8–12+ years of experience in Group Health underwriting. Strong placement background with insurer negotiation experience. Prior experience with a broker, insurer, or corporate agency. Deep understanding of SME / mid-market health insurance. Strong analytical and pricing skills. Established insurer relationships preferred.
