About MatchToCollege MatchToCollege is India’s first AI-powered college discovery and counseling platform. We are solving the trust deficit in higher education by replacing biased agents with an honest, data-driven AI counselor.

The Opportunity We are looking for a Founding Engineer—someone who doesn't just write code but builds products. You will not be a cog in the wheel; you will own the wheel. You will work directly with the Founders to scale our platform from thousands to millions of users.

What You Will Build ● AI-Powered Counseling Engine: Integrate LLMs (Gemini/OpenAI) with our proprietary college database using RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation). ● Real-time Dashboards: Build high-performance dashboards for students and university partners. ● Scalable Architecture: Design a backend that can handle high-concurrency traffic during admission seasons.

Tech Stack ● Frontend: Next.js 15+ (App Router), React, Tailwind CSS. ● Backend: Node.js, Express/NestJS. ● Database: MongoDB Atlas (Vector Search), PostgreSQL. ● AI/ML: LangChain, Google Gemini API, Python (Basic). ● DevOps: Vercel, AWS/Railway, Docker.

Responsibilities ● End-to-End Ownership: Take features from Figma design to Production deployment. ● Architectural Decisions: Choose the right tools and database schemas for scalability. ● Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews for interns. ● Speed & Execution: Ship fast. We are a startup; we deploy daily, not monthly.

What We Are Looking For ● Strong MERN/Next.js expertise: You know the difference between Server Components and Client Components. ● Database Mastery: You can write complex aggregation pipelines in MongoDB and optimize SQL queries. ● Problem Solver: You don't wait for instructions. If the API breaks, you fix it. If the page load is slow, you optimize it. ● AI Curiosity: Experience with OpenAI/Gemini APIs or Vector Databases is a huge plus.
