Engineering Manager - JAVA

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Java to lead high-performing engineering teams and drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in Java with proven people leadership, delivery ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Provide technical direction and architectural guidance for Java-based applications and platforms. Review system designs, code, and implementation approaches to ensure quality, scalability, security, and performance. Drive best practices in coding standards, design patterns, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps adoption. Make informed technology decisions aligned with long-term platform and business goals. People & Team Management Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, senior engineers, and tech leads. Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, career planning, and continuous feedback. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, accountability, and continuous learning. Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent. Delivery & Execution Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives from planning to production. Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders. Manage sprint planning, prioritization, estimation, and delivery timelines. Identify risks and proactively resolve technical and delivery challenges. Stakeholder Collaboration Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Partner with leadership to align engineering execution with organizational objectives. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills 9–12 years of experience in software engineering, with strong expertise in Java. Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA. Experience in designing and building microservices-based architectures. Strong knowledge of REST APIs, distributed systems, and scalable backend services. Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL). Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices. Understanding of system performance, security, and reliability.
