Revit Rebar Detailing

Job summary A Rebar Detailer is responsible for creating clear and accurate 2D & 3D rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS) for concrete structures and creating detailed 3D models and construction documents from architectural and structural designs using Autodesk Revit. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabricators, this role ensures all rebar is detailed according to project specifications and relevant industry codes. Key responsibilities ·

Drawings and detailing:

Interpret structural and architectural drawings to produce precise and comprehensive 3D rebar model and 2D shop drawings. ·

Bar bending schedules (BBS):

Create detailed schedules specifying the type, size, length, and bending requirements for each rebar (rebar cutting list) ·

Quantity estimation:

Perform accurate material take-offs and quantity estimations for rebar and related accessories to aid in procurement and budgeting. ·

Coordination:

Perform clash detection to identify and resolve conflicts between architectural, structural, and MEP systems using tools like ACC or Navisworks. ·

Quality Assurance:

Perform quality checks on models and drawings to ensure they are accurate, complete, and adhere to project standards and relevant codes. ·

Updates:

Maintain and update models throughout the project lifecycle to incorporate design changes and revisions. Qualifications ·

Education:

A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or M’Tech is often preferred. ·

Software proficiency:

Must be proficient in in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360/ACC, Naviswork and preferably in specialized rebar detailing software like RebarCAD, Revit. ·

Technical knowledge:

Strong understanding of reinforcement design, rebar fabrication. architectural and structural engineering principles, building codes, and BIM ·

Experience:

Experience in creating Rebar, architectural and/or structural models is necessary. ·

Understanding of construction methods, US codes, and US industry standards Strong attention to detail and precision in modeling tasks Effective communication and team collaboration skills
