Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Linux Administrator
with strong troubleshooting skills in production environments.
The candidate will be responsible for Linux server administration, performance tuning, patching, storage management, and high-availability clustering (Veritas).
The role requires hands-on expertise in
incident handling, change management, and root cause analysis
in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Linux Administration
Manage Red Hat / Linux production servers
Perform user, permission, and process management
Monitor system health and performance
Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, and network issues
Perform server builds, migrations, and decommissioning
Performance Troubleshooting
Analyze CPU and memory spikes
Identify high resource consuming processes
Provide historical usage analysis using monitoring tools
Support application teams during performance incidents
Patching & Lifecycle Management
Perform OS patching and security updates
Validate pre-checks and post-checks
Handle reboot and non-reboot patching
Apply version-specific upgrades and exclusions
Ensure production change compliance
Storage & File System Management
Troubleshoot full filesystem issues
Extend and manage filesystems
Perform disk expansion and LVM configuration
Add and manage new disks in production systems
Boot & System Recovery
Troubleshoot boot failures
Understand boot sequence and startup services
Perform system recovery activities
Cluster & High Availability (Veritas Preferred)
Manage Veritas Cluster Server environments
Handle failover and fencing scenarios
Perform cluster patching and compatibility checks
Support clustered application environments
Production Change & ITIL Processes
Execute approved change requests
Perform rollback and recovery planning
Participate in incident and problem management
Support emergency changes and vulnerability remediation
