Position Overview -
Business Analyst
with strong expertise in the
Travel & Hospitality domain , specifically in
Channel Management, OTA integrations, distribution workflows, and connectivity platforms . The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical capabilities, strong documentation skills, and the ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications.
This role requires hands-on technical proficiency with tools commonly used in OTA/Channel connectivity such as
Splunk, Postman\Bruno, JSON/XML payloads , and the ability to interpret logs and diagnose issues efficiently. The candidate will work closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Operations to support and improve end-to-end onboarding, certification, ARI distribution, and reservation lifecycle processes.
Key Responsibilities -
1. Business Requirements & Functional Documentation
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Channel management (OTA onboarding, ARI distribution (Availability, Rates, Inventory), Reservations, Modifications, Cancellations etc.).
Translate business needs into
clear HSDs, BRDs, FRDs, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria .
Maintain detailed, high-quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Domain Expertise – Travel & Hospitality (Channel Management)
Demonstrate strong understanding of OTA ecosystems, channel managers, CRS/PMS flows, and hotel distribution concepts.
Analyze OTA integration requirements and guide technical teams on implementation nuances.
Support mapping of rooms, rates, content, taxes, policies, and other onboarding components.
3. Technical Analysis & Issue Resolution
Use
Splunk
to analyze logs, trace connectivity issues, and identify root causes in real-time onboarding or production scenarios.
Validating APIs, schema checks, request/response flows, and troubleshooting partner integrations.
Interpret
JSON/XML payloads
for ARI updates, reservation messages, and OTA connectivity validation.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support debugging, defect replication, and integration improvements.
4. Stakeholder Management
Serve as a key liaison between internal teams (Product, Engineering, QA, Operations) and external OTA partners.
Facilitate requirement sessions, technical deep-dives, and cross-functional alignment discussions.
Communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and expectation alignment.
5. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
Identify inefficiencies in OTA onboarding and operational processes; propose improvements for automation and standardization.
Support enhancements for tools, templates, dashboards, and business rule documentation.
Collaborate with product teams to design scalable solutions for future OTA integrations and platform capabilities.
6. Testing Support & Validation
Define functional test cases and support QA teams during integration and certification phases.
Validate API behaviours, schema compliance, and functional flows during onboarding cycles.
Ensure all OTA-specific certification requirements are met prior to production launch.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Proficiency in
Splunk
for log analysis and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with
Postman\Bruno
for API testing and validation.
Strong understanding of
JSON/XML , API schemas, payload structures, and transformation logic.
Ability to interpret request/response flows, error codes, and integration logs.
Domain Knowledge
Strong understanding of
Travel & Hospitality distribution , including:
OTA Integrations & Channel Management
ARI (Availability, Rates & Inventory)
Reservation lifecycle (booking, modification, cancellation)
Content distribution & mapping
Knowledge of major OTA platforms and hospitality systems is highly desirable.
Analytical & Documentation Capabilities
Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate complex business problems and propose solutions.
Advanced documentation skills—ability to create structured BRDs, FRDs, workflow diagrams, process maps, and release notes.
Ability to translate business vision into detailed, actionable functional specifications.
Stakeholder Management
Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to tailor messaging for business and technical audiences.
Ability to lead requirement workshops and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
