Database Administrator

Job Title: Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) Experience: 7+ Years Work Mode: Remote Shift Timing: 3 PM – 12 AM

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) with 7+ years of expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing cloud-based and hybrid database environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across major cloud platforms, strong database performance tuning skills, and the ability to drive efficient database operations through automation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities Database Management • Deploy, configure, manage, and optimize relational, non-relational, and hybrid databases across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). • Perform regular health checks, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database optimization. Cloud Migration • Lead or support database migration projects including assessment, planning, and execution of on-premise to cloud migrations. • Ensure minimal downtime, proper data validation, and successful cutover processes. Security & Compliance • Implement and maintain database security standards, including encryption, backup policies, access controls, auditing, and patching. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies. Automation & Scripting • Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting. • Create scripts for monitoring, backups, log management, performance checks, and failover processes. Collaboration • Work closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure database solutions align with business and application requirements. • Provide DBA support during application deployments, release cycles, and troubleshooting. Monitoring & Troubleshooting • Utilize monitoring tools such as Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus for proactive database health checks. • Diagnose and resolve performance issues, replication failures, cluster problems, and connectivity issues.

Technical Proficiencies Databases • Primary: PostgreSQL, MSSQL • Good to Have: Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, and other NoSQL databases Cloud Platforms • Hands-on experience with: o Microsoft Azure o Amazon Web Services (AWS) o Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Scripting & Automation • PowerShell • Python • Shell scripting Monitoring Tools • Grafana • AWS CloudWatch • Datadog • Prometheus

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • 5+ years of professional experience in database administration, including 2+ years in a cloud environment. • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty or Azure Database Administrator Associate are an added advantage.
