Role Description

The Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role works closely with engineering and product teams in Agile/Scrum environments to drive test strategy, improve release confidence, and implement best-in-class QA practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation & Technical Leadership

- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for web and API testing - Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable automated test scripts - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines - Ensure high test coverage across regression, integration, and system testing - Conduct root cause analysis and work with developers to resolve defects - Continuously improve automation performance and reliability

Quality Strategy & Execution

- Define test strategies and test plans aligned with business requirements - Create and maintain detailed test cases and documentation - Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing - Ensure adherence to SDLC and QA best practices - Track and report quality metrics

Agile & Collaboration

- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Standups, Retrospectives) - Estimate QA efforts within sprint cycles - Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and DevOps - Identify risks early and proactively suggest improvements

Documentation & Process

- Maintain structured QA documentation and knowledge base (Notion preferred) - Standardize testing workflows and processes - Mentor junior QA engineers and promote a quality-first culture

Required Skills

- 5–8+ years of QA experience with strong automation expertise - Hands-on experience with Selenium / Cypress / Playwright (or similar) - API testing and automation experience - Experience with CI/CD tools - Strong understanding of test framework design patterns (POM, BDD, etc.) - Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams - Proficiency in documentation and workflow management tools (Notion preferred)

Education

- BTech / BE (Computer Science or related field) - BCA - MBA (optional) - CSM Required - PMP (Optional) - Certifications such as ISTQB are a plus.
