About Position:

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and debugging MAC scheduling algorithms for advanced wireless communication systems. You will work across LTE and 5G platforms, ensuring robust performance under high‑latency and dynamic network conditions. The role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional engineering teams, active participation in system‑level design discussions, and hands‑on involvement in customer‑facing R&D support activities.

What You'll Do:

- Design, develop, and optimize MAC scheduling algorithms for LTE eNB, small cells, and 5G gNB systems. - Implement scheduling strategies to meet performance demands in high‑latency and dynamically changing environments. - Work on MUE Scheduler, data path optimization, and contribute to enhancements across 3GPP protocol layers (MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC). - Collaborate with system engineering teams to understand architecture, design requirements, and end‑to‑end system behavior. - Analyze field‑reported issues, interact with cross‑functional teams to identify root causes, and provide technical resolutions. - Design and debug L2 solutions with strong understanding of interfaces between L1 (Physical Layer) and L3 layers. - Support RRC-related workflows including message sequencing for connection setup, mobility, and session management. - Perform log analysis using advanced debugging tools and provide detailed reports on system performance and failures. - Utilize specialized tools (e.g., QCAT, Viavi) for network characterization, performance validation, and troubleshooting

Expertise You'll Bring:

- MAC Scheduler Expertise: Strong understanding of MAC scheduling algorithms, including design, development, optimization, and debugging. - Base Station Scheduling Experience: Hands‑on experience with MAC scheduling on LTE eNB, small cells, or 5G gNB platforms. - High‑Latency & Dynamic Environment Handling: Proven ability to develop scheduling mechanisms suitable for varying and complex network conditions. - 3GPP Protocol Knowledge: Expertise in MUE Scheduler, data path, and 3GPP layers — MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC. - Systems Engineering Perspective: Experience working across system design and implementation activities with a holistic view. - Customer Support (R&D): Ability to analyze real‑world field issues, coordinate with engineering teams, and drive issue resolution. - Programming & Architecture: - Strong proficiency in C/C++, including coding, design, debugging, and architectural understanding. - Solid knowledge of L2‑L1 and L2‑L3 interactions. - RRC Message Flow Expertise: Familiarity with RRC message sequences involved in connection establishment, mobility, and configuration.
