Windchill Developer – Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Windchill Developer (6+ years) with strong hands‑on expertise in PTC Windchill PDMLink, MPMLink, WRS, and integration with downstream systems such as ERP and MES. The candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and integration teams to build scalable Windchill solutions and end‑to‑end process flows.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and enhance Windchill PDMLink/MPMLink capabilities, including EBOM→mBOM transformation, attribute mapping, manufacturing view, and Process Plans/BOP. - Implement custom Windchill REST APIs (WRS), service layers, request/response models, and structured error handling. - Configure Windchill Types, Attributes, IBAs, business rules, and validators. - Work on Creo/CAD integration for parameter exchange and CAD‑to‑Windchill alignment. - Build and maintain integration flows with ERP and MES systems for BOM, routing, material, work order, and status synchronization. - Collaborate closely with the ThingWorx Navigate team to provide endpoints and process flows for orchestration layer development. - Manage work using Azure DevOps (PBIs, tasks, sprints).

Must‑Have Skills

- 3–7 years’ experience with PTC Windchill, including 4+ years in MPMLink. - Strong understanding of EBOM/mBOM Transformation, equivalence link, Process Plans, Operations, Resources, Alternates, and Substitutes. - Hands‑on experience with Windchill configurations, MPMLink functional areas, and REST API/WRS customization. - Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and REST frameworks. - Practical experience integrating Windchill with ERP/MES downstream systems. - Experience working with CAD automation parameters and Creo/CAD integration. - Knowledge of API fundamentals: idempotency, retry patterns, and error semantics.

Nice to Have

- Variant/effectivity modeling (date/serial/plant) and mBOM alternates/substitutes. - Familiarity with SAP routing/material interfaces.
