Plant Mechanical Operations Lead

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Mechanical Manager to oversee and execute mechanical maintenance activities in plant operations. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, equipment reliability improvement, spare management, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and safe plant functioning.

Key Responsibilities Supervise and manage day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities. Plan and implement preventive and breakdown maintenance for pumps, compressors, reactors, pipelines, valves, heat exchangers, and other plant equipment. Ensure minimum equipment downtime and improve plant efficiency and reliability. Coordinate with production, electrical, and safety teams for seamless plant operations. Monitor and manage AMC contractors and maintenance vendors. Maintain proper maintenance records, reports, checklists, and documentation. Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies. Handle spare parts planning, critical spares management, and inventory control. Lead and guide maintenance technicians and fitters. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance.

Required Qualifications BachelorÂ’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 8-12 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in manufacturing or process industry. Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment maintenance. Familiarity with safety standards and preventive maintenance systems.
