Job Title: Manager β IT Infrastructure (System Admin, Desktop Support & Network Admin)
Location: Gurugram
Experience
- 8β12 years of relevant IT infrastructure experience.
- At least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience managing IT operations for mid-size or large organisations (500+ employees).
Role Overview
The IT Infrastructure Manager will oversee the complete IT operations for a 500-employee organization, covering system administration, desktop support, network operations, security, asset management, and vendor coordination. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to ensure high system availability, security, and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain MAC OS/Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and file server/print servers.
- Oversee virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Monitor server performance, patching, backups, storage, and disaster recovery systems.
- Ensure uptime, performance tuning, and quick resolution of server incidents.
2. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) strategies and documentation.
- Conduct periodic DR drills and ensure readiness.
- Ensure data integrity and backup success across platforms.
3. Network Administration
- Manage routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi controllers, and VPN infrastructure. load balancers and network security solutions.
- Oversee LAN/WAN operations and network performance monitoring tools.
- Implement network security policies, firewall rules, segmentation, and periodic audits.
- Handle ISP coordination, MPLS/SD-WAN, leased lines, and bandwidth optimization.
4. Desktop Support Management
- Lead the L1/L2 support team to ensure prompt resolution of user issues (hardware/software/network).
- Oversee installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of MAC Book, laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Manage endpoint security software, OS updates, and asset lifecycle management.
- Create SOPs, knowledge base, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
5. Security & Compliance
- Implement cybersecurity policies, endpoint protection, patch compliance and user access controls.
- Oversee audits (internal, ISO, SOC, external), incident logging, and vulnerability remediation.
- Drive cybersecurity awareness across the company.
6. IT Asset & Vendor Management
- Manage IT inventory, AMC, procurement, and license compliance (Microsoft, Adobe, antivirus, etc.).
- Evaluate vendors, negotiate pricing, and ensure service delivery commitments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure, network diagrams, and asset registers.
7. Team Leadership
- Lead a team of System Admins, Network Engineers, and Desktop Support Executives.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and upskilling of team members.
- Plan resource allocation, scheduling, and workload management.
8. Project Management
- Lead IT infrastructure upgrades: cloud migration, network refresh, security enhancements, etc.
- Coordinate cross-functional IT projects with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare budgets, timelines, and project documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy.
- Expertise with networking (Cisco/HP/Aruba/Meraki), firewalls (FortiGate/Sophos/Palo Alto).
- Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and backup solutions (Veeam, Acronis).
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Endpoint Management.
- Troubleshooting expertise across hardware, software, LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and security tools.
