Job Description

Chief Operating Officer / Director - Impact Operations

WeDoGood

About WeDoGood

We're a social impact org that enables nonprofits & social enterprises by building their organizational capacity and helping them overcome operational challenges through skilled volunteering & fractional resources. So far, we’ve worked with 200+ social impact orgs, completed 500+ projects and saved nonprofits INR 3.6 Crores in 18+ causes. We are officially partnered with a few corporates like Microsoft, Tata etc.

About The Role

We are looking for a COO/Director – Social Impact Ops to lead the skilled volunteering and mentoring function at WeDoGood. This is a leadership role that includes managing end-to-end project delivery across both corporate-led volunteering and one-on-one NGO engagements. You will define the roadmap for the operations of WeDoGood - working across project operations, team management, volunteer engagement, and beneficiary relationship building. You will be responsible for growing the scale of operations and ensuring quality while scaling. As WeDoGood is a startup in the scaling phase, we look for someone who can take ownership and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Why This Role Is Important

We believe in the impact skilled volunteering can bring to NGOs and beneficiaries. We have seen NGOs growing due to our support, solving and streamlining issues that have existed for ages, and even increasing beneficiaries by 10x. In our recently launched Skilled Mentoring initiative, youth and small businesses have been able to find the right mentor who has guided them in the right way. This role is critical as it sets the pavement to scale skilled volunteering in India. If you are able to grow the scale by 10x, we would be able to support 50,000 beneficiaries and save costs worth 100+ Cr.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the design and execution of all skilled volunteering engagements - both corporate partnerships and beneficiary-funded engagements.

- Ensure all projects (short- and long-term) run smoothly, with clarity, quality, and predefined benchmarks.

- Manage the Social Impact team (Managers, Associates, Volunteers) with a focus on performance, growth, and ownership.

- Interact with Beneficiaries to understand their needs/requirements and scope out projects.

- Continuously improve internal operations and tooling to streamline execution at scale.

- Develop systems for process standardisation, performance tracking, and feedback loops.

- Ensure great NPS score, client retention and even support in business development efforts.

What We’re Looking For

- 8+ years of experience in operations, consulting, project/program management, or leadership roles in the social impact or startup ecosystem.

- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and delivering high-quality outputs.

- Strong client-facing skills, especially in engaging with senior nonprofit leaders.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to scale programs and manage a team.

- Familiarity with tech-enabled operations (no-code tools, CRM, project tracking tools, etc.).

- Commitment to solving challenges in the social sector and belief in capacity-building.
