Roles and Responsibilities : After successfully piloting SparksDream Skills Playbooks, we are now automating our insights and scaling outcomes through a mobile app. We are seeking a Backend Developer to co-build the MVP of the SparksDream App, translating behavioral insights into a usable, lovable, and scalable MVP, working directly with the founders. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in early-stage product development, working closely with existing system architecture and application logic to build robust backend services.

Build Core Product Capabilities: a. Learn-on-the-Go Modules Build micro-sized, gamified learning experiences designed for consistent micro-practice and continuous progress.

b. Conversational Spaces Build safe, structured, non-overwhelming peer-group spaces for expression, reflection, and sharing. Implement controlled matching logic for peer cohorts, accountability pairs, and expert mentors.

c. AI-Driven Personalization Operationalize persona mapping to automate context setting for each learner. Integrate LLM-based recommendation and guidance systems that situate frameworks in a business context.

d. Visible Learning Growth Build low-friction, incremental progress capture. Implement visible progress trackers that reinforce repeat usage and habit formation. Connect learning activities to application metrics, enabling measurable business-oriented growth built upon the given logic framework.

Collaboration: Work with product design and tech teams to ensure pedagogical intent is reflected in the product. Convert insights shared by the UX team into actionable technical improvements. Collaborate with founders for rapid experimentation and evidence-based iteration.

Feedback & Iteration: Work with rapid cycles of prototyping → testing → analysis → refinement. Identify, track, and fix backend issues, including bugs related to APIs, databases, server logic, performance, security, and system reliability across environments. Prioritize shipping over perfection; evolve the MVP into a validated POC.

Quality, Performance & Scalability Own code quality, testing, reliability, and security standards. Build for scale—ensuring that contextual personalization, peer matching, and data flows remain performant with growth. Maintain comprehensive documentation and support smooth handovers as the team grows.

You are a good fit as an AI/Backend Full-Stack Engineer if you: Have 3+ years of total engineering experience, including 2+ years working with AI/LLMs and 1+ year with vector databases or embedding-based retrieval systems. Can call LLM APIs with structured context injection, pulling user data, goals, and past sessions. Can build prompt orchestration layers for SparksDream AI conversational support. Can manage conversation memory using vector databases Can create servers with WebSockets (or equivalents) supporting multi-user rooms, presence/state tracking, user connections & disconnections, message deliveries & retries Can build REST + GraphQL endpoints that power modules, community flows, and analytics. Can build an expert indexing + skill tagging system for mentor matching, discovery, and recommendations. Can create pipelines that read user goals, behaviour logs, and workout history. Can generate personalized recommendations using rule-based + AI hybrid logic. Can ensure efficient query patterns, caching, and pagination for large feeds. Can manage cron jobs, task queues, and background processes for daily/weekly data processing.

Milestones and Deliverables: Milestone 1 – Backend Setup Duration:

~80 hours Tranche 1:

25% of the total amount Scope:

Backend infra, core schema, LLM context framework, core REST endpoints, MVP conversation memory, WebSocket boilerplate.

Milestone 2 – Core Features & Analytics Foundations Duration:

~300 hours Tranche 2:

50% of the total amount Scope:

Prompt orchestration, embeddings pipeline, expert indexing, presence engine, GraphQL layer, progress pipelines, RAG refinement, mentor/peer matching, analytics endpoints, cron jobs, query optimization, analytics tuning.

Milestone 3 – Stabilization, Security & Pilot Readiness Duration:

~80 hours Tranche 3:

25% of the total amount Scope:

Load testing, security hardening, logging & monitoring, final AI tuning + cold start, security/privacy checks, internal support tooling.
