Job Description
Position Title : Cloud Engineering Fellowship Associate
Program Duration : 6 – 8 Months (Full-Time Fellowship)
Role Summary
The Cloud Engineering Fellowship Associate will participate in a structured, project-based learning program designed to build foundational and intermediate cloud computing and DevOps skills. Fellows will work on real-world cloud infrastructure projects, receive mentorship from experienced cloud engineers, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to gain practical, hands-on exposure across the full cloud lifecycle — provisioning resources, automating deployments, implementing security, monitoring systems, and optimizing performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Execution & Documentation
• Complete assigned cloud engineering learning projects involving virtual machine provisioning, serverless functions, container deployments, storage configuration, and networking.
• Build and deploy cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate environment setup.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows for applications.
• Document cloud architectures, resource configurations, deployment steps, and cloud cost usage.
Research & Framework Development
• Research cloud best practices, DevOps methodologies, security compliance frameworks, and cost-optimization strategies for practical implementation.
• Propose improvements to existing cloud architectures, provisioning scripts, automation workflows, and monitoring dashboards.
• Document IaC standards, architecture diagrams, cloud security policies, and automation playbooks.
Cloud Operations & Performance Monitoring
• Monitor cloud environments and services using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to networking, storage, compute, IAM permissions, or deployment failures.
• Analyze logs and alerts to ensure uptime, performance efficiency, and reliability.
• Conduct performance tuning, autoscaling configuration, and resource utilization optimization.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with mentors, engineering team members, and project stakeholders to gather requirements and support solution implementation.
• Participate in peer reviews, project showcases, DevOps simulation tasks, and architecture discussions.
• Incorporate feedback from technical mentors to enhance quality, performance, and security of cloud deployments.
Learning Outcomes
• Develop proficiency in the end-to-end cloud engineering workflow: provisioning, automation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Gain hands-on experience with cloud services, DevOps pipelines, IaC automation, and cloud-native networking and security.
• Strengthen troubleshooting, systems thinking, performance-engineering, and documentation skills.
• Build a portfolio showcasing cloud architectures, IaC scripts, automation pipelines, monitoring dashboards, and deployment case studies — demonstrating job-readiness for cloud and DevOps roles.
Qualifications
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Electronics, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Early-career engineers or recent graduates preferred.
• Familiarity with Linux, networking fundamentals, and one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, etc.) required; exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn emerging cloud technologies.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Program Benefits
• Structured mentorship, regular performance feedback, and technical career development coaching.
• Opportunity to present cloud projects to industry experts and receive professional evaluations.
• Fellowship certificate and digital badge upon completion.
• Accelerated pathway to Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Platform Engineer, or Cloud Support roles.
