Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly, biweekly, or monthly payroll for employees accurately and on schedule
Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness
Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments, etc.)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports
Maintain and update employee payroll records in payroll systems
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, tax forms, and deductions
Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments
Assist with year-end processes including W-2 and other tax documentation
Support audits related to payroll and compliance
Required Qualifications
Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of payroll processing experience
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax laws
Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
Experience with multi-state payroll processing
Knowledge of labor laws and compliance regulations
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
