Role Overview
The Country HR Manager – UHM India will lead the Human Resources function for UHM India, driving strategic HR initiatives while ensuring operational excellence across all properties and the corporate office.
This role will be instrumental in building UHM’s employer brand in India, establishing strong HR frameworks, ensuring statutory compliance, and fostering a high-performance culture aligned with UHM’s core values: Human, Passionate, Pragmatic, Competent, Righteous, and Impactful.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the HR strategy for UHM India aligned with global objectives.
Act as a strategic partner to Country Leadership and General Managers.
Support business expansion, pre-openings, and integration of new properties.
2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
Lead recruitment strategies for corporate and property-level roles.
Build strong talent pipelines across hospitality markets in India.
Oversee manpower budgeting and workforce planning.
3. Compensation & Benefits
Design competitive compensation frameworks aligned with Indian market benchmarks.
Ensure payroll governance, statutory contributions (PF, ESIC, Gratuity, etc.), and compliance.
Partner with Finance on budgeting and cost management.
4. Employee Relations & Engagement
Build strong employee engagement practices across properties.
Lead grievance handling and disciplinary processes.
Foster a positive and inclusive culture.
5. Learning & Development
Identify training needs and implement leadership development programs.
Partner with operational leaders to enhance service excellence and performance.
Drive succession planning initiatives.
6. Policies, Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws and local regulations.
Develop and implement HR policies and SOPs.
Maintain high ethical and governance standards.
7. HR Systems & Reporting
Implement and manage HR systems and reporting dashboards.
Provide HR analytics and insights to leadership.
Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10 –12 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Hospitality/Hotel industry experience is a must.
Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory requirements.
Experience in multi-property or regional HR leadership is an advantage.
