Senior FinOps & Cloud Optimization Specialist

Role Description Cloud Cost Optimization (AWS First) Analyze AWS billing, CUR data, usage metrics, and infrastructure patterns to identify optimization opportunities. Implement and validate rightsizing, RI/SP planning, spot optimization, storage optimization, and workload scheduling strategies. Design cost governance models including budgets, guardrails, showback, and accountability frameworks. Drive measurable cost reduction initiatives with clear ROI tracking.

Multi-Cloud & Advanced FinOps Extend optimization strategies across GCP, Azure, and hybrid environments. Define cross-cloud benchmarking and cost allocation strategies. Build frameworks for unit economics, cost per service, and cost per tenant analysis. Contribute to multi-tenant FinOps architecture alignment.

AI-Driven Optimization • Work with engineering to incorporate AI/ML models for: Forecasting Anomaly detection Predictive scaling Intelligent recommendations • Help design decision engines that automate optimization actions. • Define datasets and heuristics required for AI-based cost intelligence.

Product & Strategy Collaboration Collaborate with backend and product teams to embed FinOps best practices into the platform. Validate features against real-world FinOps use cases. Provide domain expertise for roadmap prioritization. Engage in design partner conversations to understand enterprise cost challenges.

What We’re Looking For Required: 4+ years of hands-on FinOps or Cloud Cost Optimization experience. Strong AWS expertise (billing, Cost Explorer, CUR, Savings Plans, RIs, EC2, EKS, S3, RDS). Experience implementing cost optimization strategies in real production environments. Strong understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure patterns. Experience working with engineering teams on automation or tooling. FinOps Certified Practitioner (preferred) or equivalent experience.

Preferred: Multi-cloud FinOps experience (GCP, Azure). Familiarity with Kubernetes cost management. Exposure to cost optimization tools (CloudHealth, CloudZero, Finout, Kubecost, Spot, etc.). Understanding of AI/ML applications in forecasting or anomaly detection. Strong analytical mindset with SQL/data analysis capability. Ability to communicate insights to both engineering and finance stakeholders.
