Role Description We are looking for a

hands-on Finance Manager based in India

who will build and manage the company’s finance and commercial operations and systems while supporting growth, margin discipline, and preparation for future capital raise. This role combines

financial operations and management, commercials and contract administration, and systems implementation

and automation.

The successful candidate will help build the financial backbone of a high-growth Data and AI company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations:

Own day-to-day finance operations (Australian and India Operations) including: Accounts payable and receivable Invoicing clients globally (Australia, UK, etc.) Vendor payments Contractor payments Expense management Weekly and Monthly Management reporting India and Australia Compliance Management and reporting Contract administration (customer, supplier, partners) Ensure accurate and timely financial records, contracts, and compliance.

Payroll Management:

Manage payroll for: India employees Australia Employees Responsibilities include: Payroll processing Tax deductions Statutory compliance Contractor invoicing Preferred experience with Zoho or any other local Payroll System

Financial Systems Implementation:

Implement and manage the company’s finance systems including: Accounting system (Zoho/Xero / similar) Payroll platform Expense management Financial reporting dashboards

The candidate should be able to lead the system implementation from scratch.

Revenue & Project Financial Tracking:

Build reporting around the followings to enable leadership to make commercial decisions.:

• Customer and Supplier Contracts • Project profitability • Revenue by client • Revenue by consultant • Utilization tracking • Gross margin

Financial Planning & Reporting:

Support leadership with:

• Monthly financial reporting • Budget tracking • Financial forecasts • Hiring cost projections • Cash flow management Prepare clear dashboards and financial summaries.

Fundraising Preparation:

Support founders in preparing the company for a future capital raise. Responsibilities may include: • Maintaining financial data room • Financial model inputs • Investor reporting support • Cap table management

Compliance & Governance:

Ensure compliance across:

• Indian tax and statutory requirements • Australian tax and statutory requirements • International invoicing • GST / VAT requirements where relevant Coordinate with auditors/company sec.

Strategic Responsibilities

The role will also contribute to improving the commercial performance of the company. Examples: • Improving gross margin visibility • Pricing analysis • Identifying cost inefficiencies • Improving billing cycles • Improving cash flow

Required Experience Education:

CA / CPA / MBA Finance preferred.

Experience:

3 – 6 years relevant, hands-on experience in: • Finance operations • Accounting • Financial reporting and statutory compliance

We would prefer candidates with prior similar experience in: • Tech Startups • Technology services companies • Consulting firms And with systems experience • Xero / Zoho Books/Zoho Pay or equivalent Saas Financial Tool • Excel / financial modelling /Power BI Experience in implementing systems is valued.

AI and Automation Mindset:

The Finance Manager should be comfortable using AI tools to automate workflows, analyze financial data, generate reports, and improve operational efficiency – example - AI-assisted financial analysis and reporting. Someone who can turn this: Raw numbers → AI analysis → insights. Skills in using AI in finance operations is important to us.
