The Opportunity

We are seeking a professional to join the Acumen team to provide full-time support to one of our foundation studies clients, Trinity College - The University of Melbourne.

Role Summary:

The role is responsible for recruitment, marketing, enquiry management and conversion activities. It manages, and collaborates with, the College’s key local stakeholders to maximise enrolments in Trinity programs. These stakeholders include agents, feeder schools, colleagues from the University of Melbourne, and other sources of referral.

The ICR is a senior position and is expected to manage with a high degree of independence. It develops an annual country plan, informed by data and market insights, and the College’s overarching Marketing and Recruitment

plan sets out the marketing mix the ICR will use to achieve the College’s enrolment target. The role contributes to communications content and marketing collateral used by the Trinity Recruitment and Admissions team. It works with the College’s Marketing Team and local vendors, to deliver campaigns. It also gathers and reports market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, execute and evaluate student recruitment and conversion activities for Indonesia for Trinity College. Set and meet targets for countries of responsibility. Manage relationships with, and maximise student flows from Trinity College’s network of international education representatives, key feeder schools, relevant scholarship bodies, and other key stakeholders, including the University of Melbourne. Develop and manage market strategies, plans and budgets for countries of responsibility, informed by analysis of data and market intelligence. Manage and provide regular reports on recruitment campaigns, applications and enrolments, and budget expenditure. Contribute to communications content, marketing collateral, including digital, and work with Trinity’s Marketing team and/or third parties to deliver marketing campaigns to drive lead generation, applications and/or enrolments. Respond to enquiries from prospective students and families. Assist colleagues based in Australia and China. Liaise with alumni, current students and parents for marketing and recruitment purposes. Other responsibilities as directed by Acumen’s Account Manager for Trinity College.

Qualifications and Experience: Completion of a degree and/or relevant combination of skills and experience. Demonstrated work experience in a similar role in international education, including an understanding of current challenges and key trends. Experience in the development and execution of student recruitment and conversion strategies and campaigns to maximise student enrolments. Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Fluency, both written and oral, in Bahasa Indonesia and English. A deep knowledge of, and skills in, the recruitment of international students from Indonesia. Knowledge of a second market in South East Asia would be an advantage. The ability to source and analyse market intelligence and relevant data and to develop market plans and tactics. Ability to contribute communications content and marketing collateral and to manage third parties to drive campaigns to generate leads. A demonstrated ability to work independently in offshore locations and the personal resilience to manage the challenges of international travel and working at a distance from colleagues. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds and to manage complex, and at times difficult, intercultural interactions. Strong organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure. The ability to positively contribute and work within a team environment in addition to working independently. Well-developed technical and IT literacy across a range of platforms along with demonstrated ability managing, manipulating and understanding data. A willingness to travel regionally on a regular basis and to Melbourne annually for training purposes and to work non-standard hours as required. An interest in and desire to contribute to the educational vision, values and planning and strategies of Trinity College. An understanding of regulations governing pathways programs, as well as the opportunities and challenges within this segment of the international education landscape, is desirable. First-hand knowledge of Australia; a Trinity College and/or University of Melbourne alumnus would be particularly welcome.
