About the Role
We are seeking a skilled
Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Engineer
to oversee the design, operation, optimization, and maintenance of water treatment systems. The ideal candidate will ensure continuous, safe, and compliant operation of the plant while driving efficiency and supporting capital improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations & Monitoring
Oversee daily WTP operations to ensure efficient, reliable water treatment processes.
Monitor system performance, equipment functionality, and process control parameters (flow, pressure, turbidity, chemical dosing, etc.).
Troubleshoot process or equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
Technical & Engineering Support
Develop, review, and optimize treatment process designs and operating procedures.
Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and performance summaries.
Lead or support upgrades, plant expansion projects, and system integration efforts.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water quality regulations.
Conduct and review water quality testing, sampling, and analyses.
Maintain accurate operational and regulatory documentation.
Maintenance & Asset Management
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with operations teams.
Support reliability engineering, root-cause analyses, and equipment lifecycle planning.
Manage vendor relationships for spare parts, chemicals, and technical services.
Safety & Environmental Stewardship
Uphold safety standards and participate in hazard assessments and training.
Ensure environmental protection protocols are followed across all operations.
Qualifications
Bachelorโs degree in
Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering , or related field.
2โ7 years of experience in water treatment plant operations, commissioning, design, or process engineering (requirements can be adjusted).
Knowledge of water treatment processes such as coagulation/flocculation, filtration, disinfection, RO, UF, softening, or sludge handling.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, instrumentation, and process control.
Understanding of regulatory standards (e.g., EPA, local water authority guidelines).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work in a plant environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
