Managing Associate, Banking

Overview Having worked in your practice area for a few years, you will now have a proven track record and the confidence of your team. As an Managing Associate, you’ll be involved in supervising junior colleagues, setting high standards of work and driving efficiency. As you develop commerciality and deeper capability, you will be trusted to run your own client matters as well as assisting on larger, complex ones. You will interact frequently with clients, keeping them (and your colleagues) abreast of work progress and managing their cost expectations. We are looking for a passionate, curious and driven Managing Associate to be a part of our Banking team in Jakarta, Indonesia. Reporting to the Partners, in this role, you will be drafting and negotiating a wide range of facility documentation across all fields of banking and finance such as leverage buy outs, acquisition financing, syndicated lending and structured trade finance.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting and negotiating finance documentation, demonstrating familiarity with the latest trends, precedents and market standards;

Provide sound commercial and legal advice to the clients;

Act for borrowers and lenders;

Supervise and manage and mentoring junior lawyers in the team; lead by example and be a strong team player;

Network with clients and other market players alike, in order to capitalize on new business opportunities;

Contribute know-how and experience to the team;

Communicate assertively when under pressure and being a proactive team player.

Key Requirements

Excellent academic credentials

4 + years PQE (UK scale)

Admitted in Indonesia (PERADI)

Bahasa Indonesia and English language skills essential

Experience within a top tier firm would have an added advantage

Strong networking and organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
