Overview
A global, research-driven organisation operating in a highly regulated industry is seeking an experienced
Vendor Master Data Architect
to support its international ERP landscape. This role sits within a global ERP function and focuses on vendor master data governance, architecture, compliance, and harmonisation across regions including Europe, North America, and Asia.
Key Responsibilities
Provide architectural and technical consulting for vendor master data within an ERP (S/4HANA) environment
Lead conceptual design activities involving system changes and enhancements affecting vendor data
Advise on compliance with regulatory requirements impacting vendor master data (EU, US, ideally Japan)
Assess and propose adjustments for application changes impacting vendor master data
Support resolution of data quality issues (cleansing, correction, alignment with business data stewards)
Guide harmonisation of vendor-related ERP settings (e.g. number ranges, groupings, roles)
Align with security teams to ensure appropriate vendor roles and authorisations in line with data privacy regulations
Support incident resolution and change management activities related to vendor master data
Define and support conceptual mass processing approaches for master data
Develop and maintain functional and technical design documentation for Business Partner (BP) master data and related data models
Translate business requirements into detailed, consistent technical specifications
Coordinate with internal and external IT support teams and managed service providers
Required Skills & Experience
Strong expertise in
ERP (MM module)
within an S/4HANA environment
Experience with
Vendor Master Data Architecture
Knowledge of
Master Data Governance (MDG)
Experience integrating vendor master data across ERP and downstream systems
Familiarity with procurement and service management platforms (e.g. Source-to-Pay, ITSM systems)
Experience handling regulated vendor categories such as healthcare stakeholders within ERP environments
Deep understanding of vendor data compliance regulations
Strong documentation and stakeholder management skills
Fluent English (German advantageous)
Travel
Occasional international travel (approx. once per quarter) to Europe, North America, or Asia.
