Inventory Management

Follow up the MPS achievement and propose preventive actions regarding material availability to ensure MPS realization; responsible for setting up proper raw materials and components inventory levels.

Define and lead actions connected with inventory reductions with component families.

Measure the Supplier Service Rate – SSR – for each supplier; propose action plans to improve the service level; follow up and report daily the inventory level of raw materials and components families.

Material Availability

Plan the raw materials and components requirement based upon Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning and Master Production Schedule; anticipate potential impacts with suppliers and production.

Validate and send weekly forecasts to suppliers.

Ensure raw materials and components are available to meet customer demand.

Follow up daily the material arrivals according to firm orders and ensure suppliers ship parts on time.

Communicate complete, precise and reliable information to supplier contacts; adapt communication method and frequency to the situation (preventative, curative, crisis).

Blocking Points and Quick Actions

Attend Logistics/Purchasing meetings and follow up related action plans.

Support the implementation with the appropriate departments (APU, Logistics, Purchasing, VPS) and tools/methods to improve supply chain organization (pull flow, Kanban, EDI, milk run).

Define inbound transportation plans with the external flow analyst.

Support inventory counting and propose actions to maintain inventory accuracy with the ERP and inventory control analyst.

Alert sales during a crisis (customer or internal) to define priorities and follow associated action plans; if necessary, escale. Meet supplier contacts regularly (once a year for major suppliers).

Propose logistics protocol with suppliers in cooperation with external flow analyst and purchasing.

Ensure a backup for each supplier, train the backup, and guarantee coverage during holidays; notify both suppliers and internal customers of absences and temporary account managers.
