Job Summary
The QC Inspector is responsible for performing inspection and monitoring activities for steel fabrication, welding, and installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role includes verifying WPS, coordinating NDT activities, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively. The QC Inspector will work closely with production teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and classification societies to maintain quality standards, proper documentation, and compliance with company and project requirements without compromising safety and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection and monitoring of steel fabrication, welding, and installation works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
Verify compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and project quality requirements.
Conduct visual inspections and coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities (VT, MT, UT, PT) as required.
Ensure all works comply with Classification Society, Owner, and yard quality standards.
Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate closely with production teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
Review material certificates, welding consumables records, and fabrication documentation.
Maintain proper inspection records, documentation, and quality reports.
Support internal and external audits conducted by Class, Owner, and third parties.
Ensure quality requirements are implemented without compromising safety and project schedule
Key Requirements
Ensure all fabrication, welding, and installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor and inspect ongoing work to maintain project quality requirements.
Verify implementation of WPS, ITP, and applicable procedures.
Coordinate and witness required inspection and NDT activities.
Identify and report non-conformities and ensure proper corrective actions are taken.
Liaise with production teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and Class/Owner representatives regarding quality matters.
Review and maintain inspection documentation and quality records.
Support audits and external inspections when required.
Ensure quality compliance while maintaining safety and project timelines.
Education
Bachelors
Diploma in Marine Engineering or Mechanical & Production Engineering
