This is a commercial ownership role for a well-known global FMCG brand operating in trusted household and everyday consumer categories. The Key Account Manager will lead retail growth across independent modern trade groups, local and regional chains, and fragmented retail partners. The role holder will build scalable commercial frameworks and drive strong in-store execution through distributor and field sales teams.

About the role The Key Account Manager will manage a portfolio of independent retail customers, lead negotiations for trading terms, and drive promotional performance with a clear focus on ROI. The role will be accountable for ensuring availability, visibility, and in-store execution that protects and grows market share. Success in this position requires strong commercial ownership, distributor management experience, and the ability to translate strategy into retail execution across a complex and fragmented channel landscape.

Key responsibilities

Develop and execute channel and account strategies to deliver revenue and market share growth

Lead commercial negotiations, including trading terms, promotions, and customer agreements

Manage A&P and promotional budgets, ensuring ROI and performance impact

Align promotional calendars, business reviews, and customer growth plans

Drive execution excellence through distributor partners and field sales teams

Identify opportunities to improve distribution, shelf visibility, and in-store performance

Monitor business performance, analyze data, and implement corrective action plans

Collaborate cross-functionally with trade marketing, supply chain, and category teams to win in store

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of Modern Trade / Key Account Management experience in FMCG

Strong negotiation capability with a commercial ownership mindset

Proven experience managing distributors and retail execution teams

Ability to manage complexity across fragmented retail partners

Skilled in data analysis, planning, and converting strategy into retail execution

Familiar with trading terms, promotional ROI, and channel budget management

Structured, collaborative, and highly results-driven
