Job Description
An innovative, venture-backed life sciences analytics company is appointing a Chief Commercial Officer to lead and scale its global commercial strategy. The business operates at the intersection of complex biological data, advanced analytics, and pharma/biotech decision-making, supporting customers across discovery, translational research, and clinical development.
This is a board-facing role with full ownership of revenue strategy, commercial execution, and go-to-market scale as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Role Overview
The CCO will be responsible for building and executing a global commercial engine across enterprise sales, partnerships, marketing, and customer growth. You will translate a highly technical platform into clear, differentiated value propositions for pharma, biotech, and advanced research organisations.
You will work closely with the CEO, Product, and Scientific leadership to align commercial strategy with product evolution and long-term company vision.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
Own global revenue strategy across new business, expansion, and strategic partnerships
Define and execute go-to-market strategy across pharma, biotech, and life science innovators
Build predictable, scalable revenue models aligned with enterprise deal cycles
Lead pricing, packaging, and commercial positioning for complex data and analytics offerings
Sales & GTM Leadership
Build, lead, and scale a high-performing global sales organisation
Establish clear sales processes, forecasting discipline, and performance metrics
Personally engage in senior-level enterprise deals and strategic accounts
Drive expansion within existing customers through land-and-expand strategies
Partnerships & Strategic Alliances
Develop and manage partnerships with pharma, CROs, technology providers, and ecosystem players
Structure strategic commercial collaborations that accelerate adoption and revenue
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and executive forums
Marketing & Market Positioning
Oversee marketing strategy including messaging, thought leadership, and pipeline generation
Translate complex technical capabilities into compelling commercial narratives
Strengthen brand presence within the life sciences and data-driven R&D community
Leadership & Governance
Act as a core member of the executive team, contributing to company-wide strategy
Partner with the Board and investors on growth planning, reporting, and forecasting
Build, mentor, and retain senior commercial leaders across regions
Candidate Profile
Experience
Senior commercial leadership experience (CCO, CRO, VP Commercial, or equivalent)
Proven track record scaling revenue in life sciences software, data platforms, or analytics-driven businesses
Deep experience selling complex, enterprise solutions into pharma and biotech
Background working with VC-backed or high-growth scale-ups strongly preferred
Domain Expertise
Strong understanding of life science R&D environments (omics, translational research, clinical, or adjacent domains)
Experience commercialising data-heavy, technically sophisticated platforms
Comfortable engaging with scientific, technical, and business stakeholders
Leadership Style
