Artisan Confectioner Apprentice

Kikkaya Wagashi (菊花屋) is an artisanal Japanese sweet (wagashi) studio based in Central Jakarta. We make wagashi with the same care and respect practiced in Japan and we are looking for someone who wants to do this work seriously.

What you'll do You will prepare wagashi and artisan confectionery daily — our work is rooted in Japanese craft but extends into Japanese desserts and touches of French patisserie. You will hold high standards for finish and presentation, keep the kitchen clean and disciplined, and meet customers at the counter as a representative of the brand.

Who we're looking for * Culinary graduate with minimum 1–2 years hands-on experience in pastry, bakery, or confectionery * Genuinely drawn to Japanese craft and culture — deeply, not just aesthetically * Curious about ingredients, techniques, and the story behind what you make * Thinks independently and works with initiative * Takes care of the small things without being asked
