QA Engineer Automation

Olmero is Hubexo’s SaaS platform serving the Swiss construction industry. We’re building a new Jakarta-based team to work closely with our colleagues in Switzerland, and we’re looking for a Software Tester to be the first dedicated tester for Olmero in the hub.

Until now, most manual testing has been done directly by Product Owners. With the new team, we want someone who will take real ownership of testing: bringing structure to manual tests, helping reduce regressions, and gradually shaping how we approach test automation together with the engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Own and perform

manual testing

on Olmero’s test environment for new features and changes.

Review

user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira , ask clarifying questions, and ensure they are clear and testable.

Design and maintain

test cases, test scenarios, and checklists

for functional, regression, and smoke testing.

Perform

exploratory testing

to uncover edge cases and usability issues.

Identify, document, and track defects clearly in Jira, and follow up with developers on resolutions.

Prepare and share

concise test reports

and release-readiness notes with the team.

Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owner, and Tech Leads (Switzerland and Jakarta) to understand flows, risks, and priorities.

Contribute to building a more structured

testing and release process , including basic integration testing over time.

Gradually help the team identify

high-value candidates for automation

and support early automation initiatives where relevant.

Technical Skills

3+ years of experience as a

Software Tester / QA Engineer , preferably on

web‑based SaaS products .

Strong experience in

manual testing : functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.

Ability to create

clear, well‑structured test cases and scenarios

based on requirements and specifications.

Hands‑on experience logging and managing defects using

Jira

(or similar issue tracking tools).

Exposure to

test automation tools

such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar.

Familiarity with testing against

acceptance criteria

and working closely with Product Managers.

Familiarity with

Test Case Management tools

such as

AIO Tests, Qase, TestRail , or similar platforms.

Nice to Have

Basic proficiency with

Git

for source control.

Experience or interest in

integration testing

and end‑to‑end testing.

Familiarity with

CI/CD pipelines

and how automated tests fit into them.

Experience working with

distributed teams

across time zones.

Education and Experience

Experience in a

SaaS environment

or other complex, business‑critical systems.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience is also welcome.
