Job Description

Quantum Machine Tools Pte. Ltd. is a wholesale machine tools trading house that sells CNC machines to manufacturing companies in Singapore. We provide turnkey solutions for our customers and perform services such as machine installations, relocation, repairs, preventive maintenance and more.

Job Summary Join Quantum Machine Tools as a Service Engineer, delivering expert installation, maintenance, and repair of CNC machines. Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure optimal machine performance and drive service excellence.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, and configure CNC machines at customer sites following manufacturer specifications to ensure operational readiness.

Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and periodic servicing of CNC equipment to sustain optimal machine performance and reliability.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system faults in CNC machines to minimize downtime.

Repair and replace defective components such as drives, motors, spindles, ball screws, sensors, and control boards to restore machine functionality.

Analyze and resolve software or parameter‑related issues within CNC control systems including Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Haas.

Interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and mechanical drawings to accurately identify and address faults.

Deliver on‑site customer training covering machine operation, safety protocols, and routine maintenance to empower users.

Respond promptly to service calls and manage timely resolution to reduce customer operational disruptions.

Document service activities, conduct root cause analysis, track parts usage, and prepare detailed service reports for transparency and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with technical support, spare parts, and engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges effectively.

Adhere to safety standards and company policies during all service operations to maintain a safe working environment.

Maintain and calibrate service tools and test equipment to ensure readiness and accuracy.

Build and sustain strong customer relationships to support service contracts and contribute to business growth.

Required competencies and certifications

Diploma in Precision Engineering or a relevant engineering field.

Minimum 2 years of engineering experience demonstrating technical proficiency and problem‑solving capability.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Proficiency in CADCAM software to support technical tasks and machine configuration.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Effective teamwork skills with a commitment to completing tasks efficiently and collaboratively.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with customers and team members.

Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and processes.
