Role Purpose
We are seeking an
external Solution Architect
to govern the architecture of multiple
Digital Manufacturing and Digital Quality
initiatives across several international sites.
The position is
mutualized across two streams
(Digital Manufacturing and Digital Quality) to optimize cost and ensure architectural consistency across projects. You will own
end-to-end solution architecture definition ,
integration design ,
security & infrastructure planning , and
delivery of formal architecture documentation , all in strict alignment with the client’s Enterprise Architecture, Integration Governance, and internal methodology.
Scope of Applications & Projects
You will cover architecture activities for the following solutions and platforms:
Manufacturing & Quality Digital Solutions
•
Tulip
(new implementation – project ongoing)
– eOEE (Hungary site)
– eBR – Electronic Batch Record (US site)
– IPC – In-process controls (France site)
•
LIMS
(new implementation – critical project)
– Laboratory Information Management System rollout to all sites
– Enterprise integrations with LIMS
•
Chromatography Data System (CDS)
– Standalone system replatforming (lift-and-shift)
– Infrastructure, security, and integration alignment
•
Artwork Management – Cloud-based platform
– Packaging & artwork collaboration workflows
•
Manufacturing Operations Platform
– Application currently managed by a third party; define target architecture for takeover and new global Azure environments
•
eFingerprint solution
– internal name for an external vendor’s quality & traceability platform
Criticality
•
Tulip (eOEE, eBR, IPC) ,
CDS ,
LIMS , and
Artwork
are the highest-priority projects.
• All other applications—including CDS replatforming—must be fully included in the architectural scope.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture Design & Delivery
• Define
end-to-end solution architectures
for every in-scope project.
• Produce complete architecture deliverables following
C4 methodology :
– C1 – System Context
– C2 – Container
– C3 – Component
– IAS – Infrastructure Architecture Specification
• Design & document: application architecture, integration & data flows, infrastructure (on-prem / cloud), cyber requirements.
• Address
replatforming scenarios
(lift-and-shift, legacy dependencies, target-state alignment).
• Ensure architectures are
scalable, interoperable, secure , and aligned with the client’s target state.
• Define
transitional / intermediate architecture states
when required.
2. Integration Architecture & Governance
• Design interfaces compliant with the client’s
Integration Core Team standards .
• Select & justify
integration patterns
using the client’s decision tree.
• Enforce adherence to:
– End-to-end Integration Governance Process
– Jira-based interface lifecycle workflow
• Contribute to the
Interfaces Catalog , documentation, and observability requirements.
• Coordinate with integration teams and assigned SPOCs.
3. Security, Infrastructure & Non-Functional Requirements
• Ensure
architecture compliance
with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and network standards.
• Position applications, components, integrations, and data flows into
predefined security & network layers .
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Network, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Validate & document component placement, segmentation rules, and infrastructure model alignment.
• Capture security & infrastructure constraints in architecture documentation.
• Address non-functional requirements: availability, performance, scalability, resilience, backup/restore, HA/DR.
• Secure formal sign-off from Cyber, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture stakeholders.
4. Governance, Decision-Making & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with
Enterprise Architecture Governance .
• Produce & maintain
Architecture Decision Records (ADR)
with Product Owners.
• Secure architecture approvals via:
– Domain Design Authorities
– Enterprise Design Authority (when required)
• Participate in weekly Domain/Enterprise Design Authority meetings and monthly Architecture Council (as needed).
• Guarantee
100 % of architecture documentation is approved before build starts .
5. Documentation & Knowledge Management
• Use existing client templates for all deliverables.
• Store & maintain documentation in
Confluence
and
SharePoint / EA repositories .
• Ensure versioning, traceability, and milestone-based knowledge transfer.
• Escalate high-impact risks within
24 hours .
6. Project & Stakeholder Coordination
• Work closely with: Digital Manufacturing & Quality streams, Project Managers, Business stakeholders, Vendors, and System Integrators.
• Align with Project Managers to: plan architecture activities, track progress & dependencies, ensure on-time delivery of milestones.
• Maintain accurate application and architecture repositories.

Required Profile & Experience
Core Experience
• Proven
Solution Architect
background in
manufacturing and quality digital environments .
• Strong expertise in:
– Manufacturing systems
– Quality & laboratory systems
– Shop-floor and lab environments
• Experience with
system replatforming / lift-and-shift initiatives
is a strong asset.
Technical Knowledge
• Manufacturing Execution / Digital Manufacturing platforms
• Quality systems
• Integration architectures & middleware concepts
• Data flows & interface design
• Network segregation & security principles
Architecture & Governance
• Strong experience with
C4 architecture methodology
• Experience within
enterprise architecture governance frameworks
• High documentation quality, rigor, and stakeholder alignment capability
